Reiki @ the Frontline Convention

We gave Reiki to 147 attendees of this amazing, two-day convention for first responders throughout Illinois (and beyond). Last year attendance was 450; this year it was 675. We love what this means for first responders doing incredibly difficult work to keep us safe: Their wellbeing is finally being prioritized. It also means they will be able to do their jobs and outside relationships better. Everybody wins.

Favorite Feedback: “Like everything went to my head, and somehow disappeared.”

Difficulties in our life can leave an imprint on our energy field, a dissonant, chaotic bit that disrupts the natural harmony. Sometimes this dissonance serves a purpose, motivating us to move in a different direction, or use our voice, or whatever. Sometimes its usefulness has passed and it’s just lingering around mucking up the works. In that case, Reiki can help move it out. This can be very tangible, and feel like a big release/relief.

For the second year I was invited to give a presentation as a breakout session. This year it was How to Encourage Participation in Your In-House Wellness Program. More than 100 people showed up with open minds and great ideas. We did some sharing and brainstorming, and everyone came away motivated to promote wellness at their departments. My heart is full.

Huge thanks to the 100 Club of Illinois for their incredible work putting this event together, and everything they do all year long to support our first responders.
