EMTs have tough job! We loved sharing Reiki with folks who are first on the scene, saving lives when things go sideways. We visited Engine 70, 115, 106, and Field Division South. Thank you for the warm welcome and the willingness to try new things.

Every year the Chicago Fire Dept. hosts an event to celebrate families. This event has grown year-over-year and this year was a delight! It included food trucks, a foam pit, bouncy house, face painting, and the Blackhawks mascot, Tommy Hawk! A couple Brigade members tried the Virtual Reality setup that gently teaches kids how to react in case of a fire—genius! As always, we were happy to provide Reiki and received some wonderful feedback.
Following a two-day Reiki class, you will see the world and your place in it in a much more positive light. You are fundamentally energetic and spiritual in nature, and you are capable of co-creating your life in incredible ways. We’d love for everyone to have this sense of peace and empowerment in their lives.
Read MoreWe made a lot of connections at the Frontline Convention, and an invitation from Grayslake PD was the first of several we received following the conference. It held special significance, and it was an emotional event. Read the full event recap to see why.
Read MoreWe gave Reiki to 147 attendees of this amazing, two-day convention for first responders throughout Illinois (and beyond). Last year attendance was 450; this year it was 675. We love what this means for first responders doing incredibly difficult work to keep us safe: Their wellbeing is finally being prioritized. It also means they will be able to do their jobs and outside relationships better. Everybody wins.

The Reiki Brigade offers a Level 1 Reiki class every few months. It can be taken in person or remotely via Zoom. Upon successful completion of the class, attendees embark on a journey of self discovery and healing, and are able to offer Reiki sessions to others and to themselves as an invaluable form of self care.

More than 450 first responders from around the state—and beyond—gathered to explore ways to support the mental health of their departments. It was a fantastic event and we were thrilled to be invited. We kept hearing that people were hoping to return with more colleagues next year.

U of C’s prestigious Booth School of Business invited us out to take the edge off Recruitment interviews. It’s a stressful time for these accomplished grad students—their careers hinge on this first selection. Reiki was tremendously helpful for so many grateful participants.

Reiki can be learned in a two-day class and practiced on the self as a form of self care, and those initiated into Reiki energy are encouraged to maintain a daily practice. So this wish is highly attainable.

There was a lot going on at HQ Friday, as the Department prepared to memorialize Enrique Martinez, a 25 year old officer who was gunned down during a traffic stop. Also, adjacent to the room we were using for our Reiki sessions, dozens of detectives were being attending a three-day training in how to identify and handle hate crimes. All in all, a very rough time for the CPD.
